Singer-songwriter and DC area native Hayley Fahey, 23, is a modern woman who applies her education and business savvy to further her professional career.
Hayley released her first album of original music, titled Sweet Red, in 2016 and is already back in the studio with Mark Williams of Bethesda, Maryland’s Sucker Punch Recording, working on her new single “Fire.”
When she’s not performing original music and solo cover songs or leading her eponymous band, Hayley is hard at work applying her degree from the University of Maryland College Park to her work as a music instructor and her videography business, DC Music Video.
Three time Grammy nominated producer John Alagía (John Mayer, Dave Matthews) and Grammy Award winning producer Scott Shuman have voiced their praise for the young entrepreneur and musician, saying "she’s the real deal” and a “rising star.”
“From her thoughtful originals to fresh takes on classic tunes, Hayley is an artist to watch in the DC metro music scene,” said Daniel Schwartz, Assistant Talent Buyer for The Hamilton Live.
The Hayley Fahey band has performed all over the greater DC area, appearing at The Hamilton Live, The Bullpen, IOTA Club and Cafe, and Gypsy Sally’s Vinyl Lounge, among many others. In summer 2017, she will check venerated local venues the State Theatre and the Strathmore off her list.
Hayley’s musical talents rival her wonderful eye for videography, making a marriage between the two career paths a perfect fit. Her YouTube channel boast over a thousand subscribers, with much of the content shot by Hayley herself. She combines her instincts for setting a scene with her performance experience to create videos for clients that realize their artistic visions as well as their expectations of quality.
Giving back to the community is another important part of Hayley's life. She currently volunteers with Roberto Clemente Middle School in Germantown, Maryland. In 2016, Haley performed a 60-minute concert with the Roberto Clemente School for the Rock Band Class students. And yes, you read that right – Rock Band Class is a real class that occurs during school hours and that students can receive credit for at Roberto Clemente Middle School. As part of her work with the class, Hayley will be rehearsing after school with “Battle of the Bands” winners for a joint performance before heading to the recording studio this summer to record a new Hayley Fahey original.
